Higgins Building to Get Convenient New Metro Station  #higgins #metro

Now under construction by the Higgins Building, a new, upcoming Metro station is underway that will increase the convenience and value of what is already one of the nicest, cleanest, safest Downtown neighborhoods. The rich history of the birth of Downtown Los Angeles surrounds the location of the new higgins-metro-neighborhood-site-plan-j2nd St/Broadway Station. The streets of Historic Downtown Los Angeles include two nationally registered districts: The Broadway Theater District, which includes the remnants and renewal of twelve theaters within seven blocks, and Old Spring Street (also called Old Bank District), which is known as the original Financial District of Downtown Los Angeles. Broadway is one of the oldest streets in the city, and it was laid out as part of the 1849 street plan. Broadway was also the home to streetcars, which were heavily utilized by shoppers and workers between 1901 and 1963.  Several entities are working to bring back modern streetcars to the area, but they might not get approved.  METRO  |  HIGGINS LOFT FOR SALE

The Historic Core and the Civic Center areas combined attract the second largest higgins-metro-station-2nd-st-jconcentration of government employees in the United States outside Washington, D.C. The new station will be the hub for government employees, tourists and locals. With the connectivity to Downtown, a visitor can hop on the train and go to the 2nd Pl/Hope St Station to visit the cultural hub of Downtown Los Angeles or to the 1st St/Central Av Station to visit historic Little Tokyo.

About the Regional Connector

The Metro Regional Connector Project extends from the Metro Gold Line Little higgins-metro-station-rendering-jTokyo/Arts District Station to the 7th Street/Metro Center Station in Downtown Los Angeles, allowing passengers to transfer to Blue, Expo, Red and Purple Lines, bypassing Union Station. The 1.9-mile alignment will serve Little Tokyo, the Arts District, Civic Center, The Historic Core, Broadway, Grand Av, Bunker Hill, Flower St and the Financial District.

This new Metro Rail extension will soon provide a one-seat ride for travel across Los Angeles County. From the Metro Gold Line, passengers will be able to travel from Azusa to Long Beach and from East Los Angeles to Santa Monica without transferring trains.
