Arts District Downtown Los Angeles Anticipates At Mateo New Shopping Center and Homes For Sale

At Mateo is an upcoming $80 million Grove-style shopping center that will replace five old warehouses with 128,000 square feet of shopping. Arts District locals and visitors will enjoy a bounty of new artisanal food options along with hip, upscale retail stores in chic industrial buildings. The modern outdoor mall is sheduled to open some time in 2017. At Mateo has provided a helpful map of Arts District neigborhood businesses. Check it out. More info is also at the new Arts District Facebook page.

The project combines some original historic industrial buildings with several new buildings clad in recycled brick. Locally harvested cobblestones pave a common area, while broad multipane windows bring in natural light.  #atmateo #artsdistrict

On land once occupied vineyards and orange groves, then by 1970s warehouses, the center will bring also two floors of creative workspace above the retail. Restaurant and cool chain-free shops will attract large number of visitors, who will have plenty of parking thanks to the new parking structure included in the new construction.

Renters have lots of choices in Downtown these days, but home buyers find the choices are very limited and expensive because no historic loft conversions have been created in Downtown L.A. since 2013.  So next week, we’re gonna analyze the top reasons why real estate developers are not building or I should say converting any more new lofts in historic or industrial buildings in DTLA.  Could it be all about the MONEY? In the mean time, find all of the lofts and condos that are available FOR SALE.

Here’s another fun upcoming event to help revitalize the Los Angeles River  —  As it is the 6th annual event, they’ve organized an exceptional night to celebrate the L.A. River as the next great civic destination for all of Los Angeles. Don’t miss out!
