With it’s large population, nearby heavy industries and encircling freeways, Downtown Los Angeles is home to extreme pollution and severe health risks. Take a look at the Los Angeles Times Pollution Map, and you can see that Downtown is right in the middle of the very worst air pollution zone.

The American Lung Assn. says that the drought is making California’s air quality worse

Before you become mentally challenged, there are things you can do to perhaps prevent some of the damage:

  1. Make frequent visits to the beach, mountains and deserts where the air is cleaner.
  2. Get a good air purifier for your home and work space.
  3. Work out in the early mornings or evenings when the air quality is better.
