New Arts District Live-Work Project Is Welcome News To Artist Community

Barker Block Lofts Los Angeles

This is an inspired build, giving local working artist more space to work in the community that they created. In a nod to the neighborhood name working artist will get rent lower than the going rate for the rapidly evolving neighborhood. After all, the artists are what make it the arts district. The live/work lofts will be the mainstay of a new seven-story building with brick walls and industrial scale windows. In addition, there will be ground-floor restaurants and shops. The lofts design considers the needs of artists. The units, bigger than a 1 bedroom apartment, will have a dedicated workspace, with additional shared workspace throughout the project.

While not a conversion project from an existing building, the thoughtful blending of new construction with a nod to the existing industrial look of the Arts District vibe has found support in the local community. #ArtsDistrict #LiveWorkLofts

Here is an example of live-work lofts in the Arts District. The Gallery Lofts is a live-work Building located in the heart of the DTLA Arts District. Units here have brick interior walls and hardwood flooring and a more contemporary vibe; other features of a live-work space seen here are a large private balcony with direct street access, floor to ceiling windows, extra high ceilings, Bathroom with tub & in-suite Laundry, Bedroom on a mezzanine level, stainless steel appliances, Central AC, gated assigned parking spaces.
