The area along the Los Angeles River is expected to be the beneficiary of many billions of dollars of renovation as the city, state and federal government pour money in to re-naturalize and re-green the L.A. River.  Buyer Doug Sanders today enjoys the fruits of that improvement at his new River House condominium by the water, which also boasts views of new Marsh Park. The city has stated that they want loft conversions to be built in in the area along with new construction homes, and the latest news is that new Lincoln Heights Lofts could be in the works.

New Homes Lincoln Heights Lofts Coming To Los Angeles River

Lincoln Property Company and Fifteen Group are currently in the lead, competing with other companies to redevelop the Lincoln Heights Jail, a 1930s Art Deco structure next to the river and the Metro Gold Line rail. Their “Lincoln Heights Makers District” project plan calls for repurposing the jail and adding new development of an adjacent 3.2-acre site owned by Fifteen Group with 268,250 square feet of residential space, 220,000 square feet of commercial space, 57,000 square feet of manufacturing and retail, along with more than four acres of open space.  Plans include a rooftop garden that’s big enough for large events, and an amphitheater at the north corner of the property.

Designer Rios Clementi Hale Studios also drafted a landscaped central paseo and connections to the adjacent river. An agreement on the development is subject to approval by City Council vote today.
