At least 1 dead, dozens of homes destroyed, including several million dollar homes in Granada Hills, roads closed and mandatory evacuations creating traffic nightmares in Chatsworth and Simi Valley. Several families have lost homes, completely destroyed in Porter Ranch, while Santa Clarita and El Sereno are also affected. Many of the destroyed single family pool homes were in the most desirable neighborhood in Granada Hills with spectacular views and huge 16,000 to 26,000 sq ft lots. Near the 14/5 interchange and the 118 freeway, the sadly destroyed homes had views of the valley, downtown, the Santa Susana, San Gabriel and Santa Monica Mountains.
