Remembering the Downtown Los Angeles Loft Specialist Real Estate Professional
KERRY STEVEN MARSICO 1965 – 2019
Known as one of the most prolific listing agents in Downtown L.A., Kerry Marsico leaves a legacy of energy and enthusiasm. After the charismatic agent passed away this week, his team continues to work guided by the venerable spirit who paved the way to helping a tremendous number of home sellers and buyers in L.A. Many Downtown real estate agents morn the loss of such a powerful market force and ambitious, respected competitor in LA’s fierce urban real estate market. Other agents always looked forward to discussions with Kerry, who was active with DREA (the Downtown Real Estate Association), to discuss the many uniquely challenging aspects of serving the LA urban property market. Fellow agents recall how he could win drawings and prizes by sheer force of will, along with a little incantation, so it’s no wonder why he sometimes went by the moniker of “Lucky Steven.” He has lived in many places, including Illinois, Florida, South Carolina and Arizona, but Kerry’s ultimate home was the entertainment capital of the world, Los Angeles (and Palm Springs too!) in sunny Southern California.

I went to college with Kerry and I’m certain that a lot of us who knew him back then would like to know what’s being planned for the memorial – please send that info to me asap. Do you have any further info on why he passed away at such a young age?

This is an unusual request I understand but Kerry was a classmate of mine and we have heard of his passing. Unfortunately we are unable to find anything additional on how he passed and when. Needless to say our HS Facebook page is blowing up over the weekend as he was remembered fondly.
Any information at all would be so welcomed.

We have not received the exact cause of death, however Kerry has been open about battling substance abuse, which kills several hundred thousand Americans annually.
