Real Estate News (Downtown Los Angeles) — Now that 46% of Downtown residents currently own a dog or plan to purchase a pooch within the next 2 years, specialty real estate developer Dorr of Los Angeles has announced plans to build a loft specifically to cater to the needs of our special canine friends. Construction of the new lofts begins in May 2016. The new Downtown luxury dog lofts start in the low $800,000s and will range all the way up to $6.7 million, and each Fido loft will feature doggy built-ins and, in addition to a traditional dog walk, the new building will also boast a tropical resort style swimming pool and rooftop deck for dogs and their loving companions.
Real estate agent Cookie Chatham has announced that she is now specializing in real estate for canines. The Downtown specialist real estate team announced today that they will become the first brokerage in the state to represent dogs in the purchase and sale of lofts and dog houses. “In California, it is illegal to discriminate, so we will ensure that every dog is represented equally, be it a pitbull, great dane, chihuahua or shitsu,” says Cookie. Dogs worldwide are looking forward to moving to Downtown Los Angeles because it is the most dog-friendly urban community. After he was rescued from Lacy Street Animal Shelter, chihuahua-mix Zenith Puppy Pacquiao is looking forward to moving to new doggy digs. “Living with my human folks at Alta lofts has been nice, but I’m three years old now and I need my own place where I can be a dog,” says Zenith. At 13 lbs, he is sure to find Fido lofts to be an easy fit.
